3 Fun Back to School PTA Fundraising Ideas

It won’t be long now before the kids are heading out the door to school, and so another year begins. This is also the time to start thinking about the PTA and your role in it. There are so many ways that parents can support their local schools and teachers. The PTA is an organization that has long sought to lend a helping hand where they can in order to give their children the very best education that is possible. Naturally, money helps in this endeavor. That is why the PTA at most schools typically holds periodic fundraisers throughout the year. With that in mind, here are three fun back to school PTA fundraising ideas that you will want to consider.

Have a Festival Complete with Games and Vendors

Children and adults alike enjoy a festival from time to time. This is a great way to raise some money at the same time. You can even have some vendors at the event who agree to donate a certain portion of the proceeds to the PTA. The games will generate a profit as well, the entirety of which will go to the organization as well. This is a great event to get the kids involved. They can help with the planning of the games and promoting the event to the entire school community.

Host a School and Community Dinner

Hosting a back to school dinner is a great way to build community within the educational environment. You can plan a simple, yet functional dinner that includes French onion soup, a fresh salad, a main dish, and a dessert. Don’t forget the sliced  French baguette loaf and cheese for the soup. In addition to the food, you will want to consider having a silent auction where guests can bid on donated items from the local community. All of the proceeds will go to benefit the work of the PTA.

Throw a Chili Cook-Off Competition

This one is always fun. Gather all of the aspiring cooks in the community and invite them to a chili cook-off competition right on school grounds. Guests will be able to buy bowls of chili, with proceeds benefitting the PTA. Get a good panel of judges and really have fun conducting the competition itself.

What other ideas can you think of? It is time to get those creative juices flowing and prepare to raise some money to help your hard-working teachers. They will certainly appreciate the gesture, and your children will benefit from having more resources to help spark their own creative genius in the classroom.
